I needed a way to generate a test trap to see that a software I configured to monitor SNMP traps is working. The trap it self is meaningless and sends test oid.

Hillel,

can I address some of you concerns here?

1. "[Linux-HA and DRBD] are not integrated properly." What makes you say so?

3. "Although HA supports fallback, the DRBD doesn’t out of the box". Excuse me?

4. Latency concerns. Perfectly valid in the Gigabit Ethernet domain. However, we already have experimental (soon-to-be fully supported) support for DRBD for Dolphin Express, which dramatically cuts down on latency.

5. "HA is relatively primitive, and has no knowledge of the resources. For example, if NFS service will fail, HA will not initiate fail over." True only if you use Heartbeat in legacy R1 configuration mode, which is deprecated and will no longer be supported as of Heartbeat 3. Heartbeat 2 in CRM configuration mode (a.k.a. Pacemaker) does support resource monitoring.

Disclosure: I work for LINBIT, the company behind DRBD.

We have a product to monitor MySQL called DBTuna http://www.dbtuna.com. This does not overlap too much with MySQL Enterprise, but works in a very similar way to i3 in that it gives a complete insight into historical MySQL query performance. e.g. you can find out the resource consumption profile of your database, and then drilldown into any time period to find out your top SQL Statements.

Feel free to download and trial!

Forgot to post an update.
After 3 days, I got the call from Tekserve that the notebook is ready. The invoice stated that logic board was replaced -$1090 and one hour of work $130. I have AppleCare so didn't pay for anything but $1K for motherboard looks expensive.
